The lab focuses on the analysis of spatial memory characteristics after acquiring an environment in virtual reality or actually moving through the environment considering both the contribution of personal (spatial cognitive styles, gender, age, familiarity with the environment) and environmental characteristics (landmark differentiation, visual access to the environment, complexity of the spatial structure) to successfully move in the environment. An area of recent interest is to analyse the relationship between online and real-world navigation.
